Breaking news!
This week it was announced that the EPA is set to recommend against Woodside's reckless plans for the offshore gas Browse Project at Scott Reef because of unacceptable potential impacts on endangered Pygmy Blue Whales, the threat to endangered Green Turtles and the risk of pollution and oil spills at the highly biodiverse and fragile Scott Reef. Woodside is not a responsible company!
Woodside is driving the climate crisis by continuing to push dirty and dangerous gas projects in the Burrup Hub!
Woodside’s Burrup Hub mega-gas project on the North West coast of Western Australia is the most polluting fossil fuel project proposed in the Southern Hemisphere. If all plans get approved, the Burrup Hub will belch out 6.1 billion tonnes of emissions over its lifetime to 2070, around 13 times the annual emissions of Australia.
If approved, the North West Shelf Extension will continue polluting until 2070! Woodside is driving the Browse project that will destroy the pristine Scott Reef and further endanger green sea turtles!
The AICD is hosting their annual awards to celebrate respectable leaders in the corporate world.
Woodside is not a responsible corporation!
- Woodside is being sued for greenwashing.
- Woodside's climate plan was rejected by shareholders with a globally unprecedented protest vote of 58%.
