Join our Go Beyond Gas 2026 Campaign Kick-Off to reflect and debrief, plan for the year ahead, and network across the climate and environment movement.
Western Australians could reap the benefits of a transition to cleaner, cheaper solar and wind energy — but we're falling behind the rest of the country on renewables. Multinational gas corporations are holding us back, taking government subsidies, paying little in royalties and taxes, and damaging our climate and nature.
Western Australians can force governments to push back on big gas, but only if enough of us stand together.
We’re growing our movement for a safer, fairer future and to protect people, climate and Scott Reef from Woodside.
This event is split into two sessions. Please come for the session that suits you best, or for the whole day!
⭐Session 1: Grassroots groups reflection and networking (10 am-midday)
What this session looks like: Connect with other Go Beyond Gas action teams or grassroots groups to learn from one another and reflect on the previous year. We’ll be sharing our wins, our challenges, and planning the ways groups can work together build a stronger climate movement in 2026.
Who will get the most out of this session: People who are an active member of a Go Beyond Gas group or another grassroots climate group, or people who are looking to start a new group in 2026.
🥪Lunch break (midday – 1 pm)
Bring a packed lunch or buy one from a nearby cafe, and join us for chat between sessions at Harold Boas gardens, right across from City West Lotteries House.
🐳Session 2: What’s next on Woodside's Browse gas project? Our plan to win! (1 pm – 2:30 pm)
What this session looks like: Get the latest updates on the campaign against Woodside’s Browse basin project, which threatens Scott Reef and will form part of the biggest, most polluting fossil fuel project in the southern hemisphere. Plan together on how we’ll build the power to win!
Who will get the most out of this session: Anyone who wants to support or learn more about the campaign to save Scott Reef and our climate from Woodside’s gas expansion plans.
