Artivists Painting Session

The movement against Woodside's Burrup Hub is growing in WA. Thousands of West Australians are taking action to stop Woodside's disastrous plans.

Now, the WA EPA has made the common sense finding that you cannot build a massive oil and gas industrial zone over a coral reef system without having unacceptable impacts. But this story is by no means over. The EPA must still make its final recommendation, and the State and Federal Governments must still decide whether or not to allow Woodside to go ahead with its plans.

It's never been more important to stand up for Scott Reef and our climate.

Our campaign to Save Scott Reef from Woodside’s Browse project relies on the public knowing about this beautiful reef and the precious marine life it is home to. Facts alone won’t be enough for people to connect with Scott Reef – to bridge that gap, we need artful, creative ways of presenting these creatures.

The Go Beyond Gas Artivists Collective have been creating Scott Reef-inspired marine life headpieces, and we need your help finishing them! Join us for a painting session at 12pm Saturday 24th August at the CCWA office.

Once completed, we hope to use these headpieces for creative actions and to bring more community awareness to Woodside’s threat to Scott Reef.

What to expect:

  • A brief refresher on Woodside’s plans and the Save Scott Reef campaign
  • Help us finish paint the marine head pieces
  • Get to know like-minded folks who love art and care for our climate and marine life

No painting experience is required! Materials will be provided, but if you do have spare paint and brushes to share, please bring them along.

RSVP is essential!
