Labor has just greenlit the biggest and most polluting fossil fuel project in the southern hemisphere – Woodside’s North West Shelf export facility. They’ve caved to Woodside’s pressure and locked us in for 4 BILLION tonnes of emissions through to 2070.
We’ve been let down. The Government have ignored our pleas to protect our climate, culture, economy, and future. Thousands of you have written to the Environment Minister and Prime Minister, spoken with MPs, sent postcards, lodged appeals, and marched in the streets – and still, they didn’t listen.
So now, we need to get louder. We need to be bolder. And we need to show up in numbers they can’t ignore.
The fight’s not over – and there are still plenty of steps Woodside needs to take before they can execute their full plans for the Burrup Hub gas mega-project. As things stand, Woodside is running out of gas to fill the capacity of the North West Shelf, and they still need approval to drill for Browse gas at Scott Reef.
Join the action to show your disappointment and call on Minister Watt to cut off Woodside's gas from the source by rejecting the next part of their Burrup Hub plan, the Browse basin project.
👉 Join our snap protest: 5pm - 6.30pm, September 15, outside Woodside’s Office (11 Mount St, Perth).
PS. You can still take action even if you're not available for the snap action. Use our easy guide to send a quick email to Minister Watt and let him know he's made the wrong choice!
